Ghana’s Black Maidens performance at the Fifa
U-17 women's world cup has put them in a good position to pick the African
women's team of the year award.
The national under 17
female team, the Black Maiden have been nominated together with the 2012
African women's champions, Equatorial Guinea and the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
The winner of the
award will be known on December 20 in Accra where the awards ceremony for the
2012 African player of the year will be held.
The Black Maidens
were the first African team to reach the quarter finals of the Fifa under 17
women's world cup and won the bronze medal after beating Germany 1-0 in the
third place play-off in Azerbaijan.
