RUUD VANISTELROOY FULL OF PRAISE FOR VAN PERSIE

Ruud Van Nistelrooy the former Old Trafford hero who scored 150 goals in a five-year spell at Manchester United  believes that his countryman Robin Van Persie can spearhead Sir Alex Ferguson's side back to the league crown that they surrendered to Manchester City last season .

According to the retired Dutchman, Van Persie who has already netted eight times in 13 appearances for the club - can give United the edge in their battle to win back the crown they lost to Manchester City last season.

He told The Daily Mirror: "As Robin is proving right now, he's making the difference on many occasions. If he can keep going like this through the whole season then I can see United landing another title win”.

"I think he's fitted in really well at United. It's important for a striker when he goes to a new club to start getting his goals in early.

"That's what happened to Robin. He has the experience of the Premier League already and he’s proved to be a great signing, the way he plays."

The former PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid striker feels Van Persie has justified £24 million [€29.8m] price-tag since joining the Red Devils from Arsenal in the summer.

Van Nistelrooy added: "I was close to him playing in the national team and I was convinced of his qualities then.

"It still has to work out, but hopefully he can go on and do even better. It's great to see, the way he plays.

"Robin fits into United's playing style. He's everywhere, involved in all of the play and the finishing as well, so that makes him special."

"MACHO" MEN SEARCH FOR EGBERT FAIBILLE AT THE STUDIO'S OF CITI FM

Ayariga's macho men invade Citi FM in search of Egbert Faibille

Ayariga's macho men invade Citi FM in search of Egbert Faibille During the early hours of today over 15 muscled individuals stormed the offices of Adabraka based radio station Citi FM, in attempt to "deal with" lawyer Egbert Faibille for comments he made against PNC flagbearer, Hassan Ayariga.

The men, who claim to be seeking answers from the lawyer, arrived on motorbikes and in buses.

A number of them, in their quest to secure entry into the station, threatened the lives of several members of staff who attempted to speak to them.

Citi News Editor, Richard Mensah, was forced to call for Police protection from the Adabraka Police station.

Mr. Faibille was kept hostage in the offices of Citi FM for several hours following the arrival of the muscled men.

Aide to People's National Convention flagbearer, Akani Adam and member of National Democratic Congress Communication Team, Benjamin Akyena Brentuo walked out following comments by Egbert Faibille describing the presidential candidate of the PNC Hassan Ayariga as a side kick of the NDC.
Mr. Ayariga, who called into the show said, “i want to make it clear to the NPP man in there that the fact that Ayariga is a politician who believes in tolerance he can insult me any how; I want him to retract that statement immediately, he should react that statement about how he described me right now and apologise,’’ Mr. Hassan Ayariga pointed out.

Mr. Egbert Faibille replyed by saying, "i will not retract. I cannot do anything about it and i will not do anything about it. I have an opinion and i have expressed my opinion."

The PNC flagbearer, who has been criticised on several media platforms and also by members of his own party then said, "I think that there is unfair play in the studio there, if other people are asked to apologise and retract statements because of some particular Presidential candidate. I believe that the gentleman there must retract the statement, if he doesn’t, I will not say much again. Tell him [Egbert] that Ghana is not for NPP and if it's violence, everybody can be violent. It is not everyone who can be patient but everyone can be violent, so I demand that he retract that statement immediately. It is not Citi FM that made the statement; he [Egbert] made that statement and if you allow him in the studio I will advice my aide to leave the studio immediately.”
