Veteran Godwin Attram has blamed referees of the local league for the decline of the once pleasant league.

According to the skipper of Accra Great Olympics since his return to the local league he has bemoaned the below par performance of referees in the country stating that their performance is what is bedeviling the league.

Attram revealed this after Oympics’ one nil loss against Tema based Inter Allies in Week 21 of the ongoing First Capital Plus Premier League.

He posited “The performance of Referee Patrick Kyeremanteng has shown clearly how referees in this country are very bad leading to the collapse of our league. You all saw that the officiating was bad and I haven’t seen anything of this sort in my 20 years of professional football career” adding that the referees should take cue from their counterparts in Europe who support clubs but act professionally when on the field.

Yaw Acheampong, Head Coach of Accra Great Olympics sharing his thoughts on the game stated that “I don’t want to comment about the referee but this is very disgracing and when such things happen, they (referees) end up putting people’s job on the line.”

He however assured Olympics fans that his side was going to remain in the league as there are 9 matches more to be played.

Meanwhile Paa Kwesi Fabin, Coach of International Allies also stated that the coach made some mistakes but his side deserved the win as the possessed over 70% of the game.

“The referee made some mistakes and those calls were in the favour of Olympics but my side possessed the game and we deserved the win so I see no reason why they have to complain”, he opined.
Speaking on his players who are leaving the club to join new clubs, Paa Kwesi stated that he would miss their services but his players are up to the task to fill those positions.

Prosper Kassim and Lawson Sabah have joined Swedish top-flight IFK Gothenburg and defender Patrick Kpozo would also join AIK Stockholm by next week.
